Irrfan, Kangana to work together in film on Begum Akhtar?

Music devotees and Bollywood fan will soon witness the life and times of prestigious ghazal and thumri artist Begum Akhtar on the wide screen in 'Ae Mohabbat' and if things go as arranged, performing artists Irrfan Khan and Kangana Ranaut could be seen together onscreen for the first time. Shri Anup Jalota Productions and Ae Mohabbat Productions on Tuesday reported the film on the life and times of Begum Akhtar, additionally the beneficiary of Padmabhushan and a symbol of Indian classical music. 

Directed by noted producer Ketan Mehta, the film will have on-screen character Irrfan Khan in the principle lead with Oscar victor A.R Rahman giving the film's music. Despite the fact that the female lead if yet to be concluded however Kangana may wind up doing the undertaking. 

"We are attempting to get Kangana Ranaut to play one of the phases of Begum Akhatar in the film," Jalota educated IANS when approached concerning the female lead for the film. 

"We have grown up listening to and revering Begum Akhtar. I have been needing to intiate such venture and a tie up with Ae Mohabbat Productions and connecting with Rita Ganguly who knew her by and by, is a genuine gift," he included. 

Ganguly, who used to be understudy of Begum Akhtar and calls her "Ammi" says that prominent vocalist's life, the highs and lows, the times identity lived as a part of, her identity and expert life had a true to life quality which can be made into full-length highlight film. 

"It is not by any means a biopic however an element film. The screenplay is prepared and it will have full recipe of a superhit film . We are wanting to discharge it one year from now as its a period film and part goes behind making such ventures," Ganguly told IANS. 

As Begum Akhtar hailed from Faizabad and is covered in Lucknow, the film likewise got the backing from Uttar Pradesh government, says Jalota.
