Maggie Smith’s ‘The Lady in the Van’ to release in December

Oscar-winning performing artist Maggie Smith-starrer "The Lady in the Van" is set to have a grant qualifying discharge this December. Nicholas Hytner is coordinating the film, which is an adjustment of Alan Bennett's West End hit, said The Hollywood Reporter. Smith is repeating her part from the stage variant. She will play Miss Mary Shepherd, an unconventional lady of indeterminate sources, who"briefly" 

 stopped her separated van in Bennett's London carport — and continued to live there for the following 15 years. In the film rendition, Alex Jennings, who plays Bennett, stars alongside Frances de la Tour, Roger Allam, Dominic Cooper, Jim Broadbent and James Corden. Damian Jones and Kevin Loader delivered, alongside Hytner. The film will have its reality debut at the Toronto Film Festival (September 10-20)
