Jan Naszewski's Warsaw-based deals outlet New Europe Film Sales has grabbed world deals rights to Mark Cousins' narrative, I Am Belfast.
In the film, the Northern Ireland city is represented by a 10,000 year old lady who uncovers its story. Topics raised in the film range from the scenes encompassing the city, its changing building design and social structure to the political and individual repercussions of the Northern Irish clash.
The component, with a score by author David Holmes (Ocean's Eleven), got its reality debut as the opening element of the Belfast Film Festival in April and played in the narrative rivalry of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in July.
Cousins past documentaries incorporate A Story of Children and Film (2013), The Story of Film: An Odyssey (2011) and The First Movie (2009).
I Am Belfast is a co-creation between Hopscotch Films and Canderblinks Films. It was financed by the BFI (executive maker Lizzie Francke), Creative Scotland (executive maker Leslie Findlay), Northern Ireland Screen (head of generation Andrew Reid) and Hopscotch Films.
The cinematography was taken care of by Christopher Doyle, who took a shot at combative technique epic Hero and Wong Kar Wai's In The Mood For Love and 2046.
The business arrangement was arranged by makers John Archer and Chris Martin and New Europe's CEO Jan Naszewski, who depicted the film as "a radiant survey experience".
"It's an intriguing, mindful adventure, joined by Christopher Doyle's brilliant pictures," Naszewski included.
Makers Archer and Martin said: "This one of a kind depiction of a notorious city is one that pushes limits of filmmaking, an enchantment realist piece that is as interesting an investigation of a city an individuals and a society after some time that you are ever liable to see."
