Kalinga International Film Festival inaugurated at KIIT

Kalinga International Film Festival 2015 got off to a colourful start here with cine experts highlighting the enormous opportunities in the field of art and culture in Odisha.

Inaugurating the four-day event here last evening, President of Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI), Gautam Kaul said there is huge scope in the field of Art and Culture in Odisha, but it is not coming to any body's notice.

Stating that there are ample opportunities to organise such international events in Bhubaneswar, Kaul said neither the central Government nor anybody noticed it.

International film festival will be organised in a grand way from the coming years, he said.

Speaking at the festival organised by FFSI in association with KIIT School of Film and Media Studies, FSSI General Secretary Premendra Mazumder said, international film festival will be held regularly every year in KIIT campus where National Conference of FFSI was also under way.

Prof P P Mathur, VC of KIIT University said KIIT University not only provides quality education, but also promotes art, culture and sports in a proper manner, a press release from the organisers said.

Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS said Odisha is rich in culture and heritage, but there is a misconception about the state around the world. We are trying our best to project Odisha globally through art and culture, he said.
